Something's In The Box 2: World War Hulk and Walt Simonson's Thor


Arriving on my porch and therefore in your feed one day early, the postman brought me the World War Hulk By Greg Pak and Walt Simonson's Thor omnibuses!

We open the box, de-cellophane the tomes one at a time and we flip through them while I make random comments.

On the eve of the opening of Thor: Ragnarok we dive into Walt Simonson's Thor Omnibus and take a look at the first four stories which introduce us to Beta Ray Bill and the idea that anyone who is worthy can wield Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. Thor (as Doctor Donald Blake) is summoned by Nick Fury when  S.H.I.E.L.D. detects a very fast moving object headed toward our solar system. An object that devours suns! Omnibus Report for the week of October 15, 2017

We have three omnibuses to preview this weekend all three scheduled to be released on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. We will follow this report up with an unboxing of all three. Starting off this list is the conclusion to DC's New 52 Justice League and that is  Justice League: The Darkseid War Saga Omnibus by Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok and Francis Manapul. Weighing in at 512 pages this volume collects Justice League #40-50, Justice League: Darkseid War Special #1, Divergence #1, and Darkseid War 1-6. I've managed to remain mainly spoiler-free on the story here. I will say, I have read Trinity War and Forever Evil, and I found both those stories a lot of fun so I am expecting this to be a lot of fun too. Also for DC fans this week, comes  Batman/The Flash: The Button Deluxe Edition by Tom King, Joshua Williamson, Jason Fabok, and Howard Porter. Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibus Drops 12/12/2017

As I said in one of my previous videos, the main reason I started this channel is to keep other people who interested in omnibus editions up-to-date with upcoming titles. Especially the ones I am most interested in. Now at any given time there are a boatload of new and reprinted omnibuses coming out as well as collected editions, collected editions usually being the trade paperback that generally contains 6-8 issues of a given title. Sometimes collected editions are lumped in with omnibuses but an omnibus is usually an event comic that contains the main event title and all the related tie-ins. Other times an omnibus will contain an entire run of a title or, as in the case of my most highly anticipated omnibus of the next few months, an entire line of comics.
